Our origin began in a family business, where hands‑on work taught grit, creativity, and resilience, lessons that shaped how to approach problems and people as opportunities. That foundation led to leadership roles in regional and large financial firms, structuring high performing teams, solving difficult problems, and guiding growth and change across complex organizations. Years working within many diverse corporate frameworks and observing perspectives from every level shaped my founders drive for innovation and growth internally in corporate organizations (“Intrapreneurship”).

Ed brings over 30 years of experience in strategy, finance, and organizational growth. With a background spanning financial services, entrepreneurship, and corporate leadership, he founded ESM Advisory with a clear vision: to help founders, leaders and business owners navigate complexity, unlock opportunities, and build enduring enterprises.

Throughout his career, Ed has:

At the heart of Ed’s philosophy is the belief that strategy is only as strong as its execution. By combining hands-on tactical leadership experience with forward-thinking insight, he empowers clients to scale effectively, resolve complexity, and create meaningful impact.

Outside of his advisory work, Ed is deeply committed to family, community engagement, and life-long journey of competitive athletics. As a proud born and raised Edmontonian, he is the father of two teenage daughters and actively contributes to youth development through coaching competitive basketball and soccer programs.

Ed also serves on the board of directors of a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing inclusive early childhood learning. With a strong foundation in fostering and mentoring leadership, he brings a values-driven approach to both his professional and personal endeavours.
